A few weeks ago I received an invitation for an exclusive Smashbox event in Geneva, and I immediately knew that I had to be there. Smashbox is one of my favorite make-up brands and I was really excited to go discover the brand’s newest products first-hand. And that wasn’t all, because Will Malherbe himself, one of the brand’s biggest international make-up artists, would be there to talk about the products in a very intimate environment. If that isn’t convincing enough, then I don’t know anymore. Let’s look at a few pictures from the event!
The impressive Smashbox primer collection. Smashbox is known for its primers and the brand has a primer for every skin type and every skin problem. The newest addition to the Smashbox primer range is the Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control primer. This skin-smoothing primer not only creates the perfect base for long-lasting make-up, but it also actively helps against impurities because of the 2% salicylic acid in the formula. That sounded perfect for me and my impure skin. Needless to say, the Blemish Control primer immediately went on my wish list. The primer is sold exclusively at Marionnaud for 48 CHF.
The new Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation. This light-weight foundation becomes one with your skin and reflects the light for that perfect airbrushed effect. It makes the skin soft and even, it camouflages redness and it looks incredibly natural, even through a high definition camera. Smashbox tests all its products in the Smashbox studios in LA, and trust me, if a product survives a chaotic photo shoot and looks good under an HD lens, then it definitely won’t disappoint you as a customer. The Liquid Halo HD Foundation is sold exclusively at Marionnaud for 52 CHF.
In preview the upcoming Smashbox Wonder Vision holiday collection, inspired by the effect of a kaleidoscope. There are three different Wonder Vision Eye Sets and each one contains an eyeshadow palette with six colors, plus a black Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner and a black Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. And there’s more, because the brand will also launch a Wonder Vision Brush Set containing five make-up brushes and a festive silver brush bag for this year’s holiday season. I bet that’s enough to make anyone long for Christmas! Luckily you won’t have to wait until December, because the whole Wonder Vision collection will be available mid-October, exclusively at Marionnaud. The Wonder Vision Eye Sets will each cost 55 CHF and the Brush Set will be 110 CHF.
Smashbox make-up artist Will Malherbe in full action. Will showed us how it’s done and he shared his tips and tricks with us. If you talk to Will you immediately notice how passionate he is about make-up. He has a great eye for beauty and he really knows how to use make-up to bring out the best and the prettiest in someone.
Bubbles and sweet treats, omnomnom! Sipping champagne on a balcony overlooking the lake and the mountains while chatting with Will Malherbe himself… Yep, just a normal day at the office!
Fan moment! I couldn’t go home without getting a picture with Will. Lucky for me Will is a very sweet man so he didn’t mind posing for a photo. What a great day and what a lovely event it was! Nothing could ruin my mood anymore. I was in such high spirits afterwards that I didn’t even mind being stuck in traffic for two hours on the way home.
